Način na koji to rade jeste da proizvode mape koje prikazuju koji sadržaj najviše privlači našu pažnju. Istraživači su koristili web-kamere 30 učesnika kako bi snimili pokrete njihove zjenice i pratili koji sadržaj oko prati dok su im prikazivane razne stranice. Svaki put kada bi nešto prvi put pogledali, kao i redoslijed pregledavanja, sve je zabilježeno. Kada su u pitanju društvene mreže, prvo gledamo fotografije profila i to na Facebooku, Kloutu i StumbleUponu. Na poslovnim web-stranicama ili stranicama koje se bave umrežavanjem ljudi radi poslovnih razmjena, opis radnog mjesta uvijek prvi privuče pažnju. Dalje su otkrili da na Facebook, Google+, Twitter i Klout profilima, sadržaj koji se nalazi niže od fotografije profila ili posljednjih postova na zidu, dobija sve manje pažnje.
